Too small and your dog hangs off the edge. Too big and a little one never quite feels tucked in. The good news: picking the right bed size takes about two minutes and a tape measure. Here’s the simple way we size every NOOKI bed.

Step 1: Weigh your dog
Weight is the quickest starting point. Pop your dog on the bathroom scale (or weigh yourself, then weigh yourself holding them, and subtract). For the OrthoFlex mattress: Mini fits dogs up to 11 lb, Standard up to 33 lb, Plus up to 55 lb, and Max is for dogs over 55 lb.
Step 2: Watch how they sleep
Weight tells you the size. Sleeping style tells you whether to go one up.
- The curler. Tucks nose to tail like a little cinnamon roll? The size that matches their weight is usually perfect.
- The sprawler. Sleeps on their side with legs stretched out, or flat on their back? Go one size up so paws and head stay on the bed.
- Quick check: measure nose to base of tail, then add 6–8 inches. The bed’s length should be at least that.

Step 3: Measure the spot
Last step: measure where the bed will actually live — beside the sofa, at the foot of your bed, in a corner of the office. OrthoFlex sizes are Mini 23.6 × 17.7", Standard 29.5 × 23.6", Plus 37.4 × 27.6" and Max 47.2 × 29.5". Leave a little room around it so your dog can step on and turn around easily.
