So… does a small dog really need springs?
It's a fair question — a 6 lb Yorkie is hardly a mattress-crushing weight. But good spine support was never about how heavy your dog is. It's about how they lie down.
- They press one spot for hours. Dogs settle in and barely move, so the same shoulder, hip or elbow carries weight for a long stretch. Individually pocketed springs share that load instead of letting it collapse into a single hollow.
- Every position asks for something different. A tight curl, a full-body sprawl, a flat-on-the-back flop — each puts pressure in a new place. Hundreds of springs respond point by point, so however your dog sleeps, they're supported.
- Small doesn't mean spineless. Toy breeds and senior dogs feel pressure too, and their joints are smaller and more delicate. Gentle, even support is a kindness at any size.
Pocket springs, not a slab of foam
Look closely and you'll see every spring is sewn into its own little pocket. That's what lets them work independently — pressing down where your dog presses down, staying firm everywhere else. A plain foam pad can't do that; over the months it sinks into one warm dip. The springs keep the surface even and buoyant, while a soft foam layer on top does all the cuddling.
